(Dublin, Ohio) Dublin City Council has approved an incentives package to help Ohio Medical Transportation, Inc. to relocate their dispatch center to Dublin and expand its operations.
The company operates MedFlight, a non-profit organization that provides care and transportation for the critically ill and injured. With eight medical helicopters and four mobile intensive care units, the company is outgrowing its current dispatch center in Columbus. This relocation will bring 39 existing MedFlight jobs to Dublin and create 22 new jobs by 2025.
The Economic Development Agreement (EDA) is a five-year, 15% performance incentive on net new payroll withholdings, which means MedFlight will keep 15% of the payroll tax for the new jobs created, capped at $15,000. The incentives will not apply to the existing jobs that will be relocated. The total estimated payroll withholdings for the relocated and new employee positions is estimated to be approximately $380,500, over the term of this Agreement. The City expects to net approximately $365,500 over the seven-year project term.
“The company’s location decision affirms Dublin’s strength in medical biosciences and health care,” says Rachel Ray, Economic Development Administrator for the City of Dublin. “We are extremely proud to be able to offer our Dublink Transport fiber optic network, which means MedFlight will have access to an ultra high-speed, reliable broadband connection- something of vital importance to a medical transport provider.”
Council voted unanimously in favor of the incentives at its January 21, 2020 meeting.
