Dublin City Council has approved an Economic Development Agreement (EDA) for Northwoods, a growing software company headquartered in Dublin.
Northwoods develops customized, high-tech software solutions for adult and aging, child support, child welfare and economic assistance. The company plans to buy a new building to accommodate their growth and is projecting to add nearly 200 new jobs by the end of 2025.
Chief Technology Officer Don Abney said Northwoods has been in Dublin for 14 years and chose to continue to grow in Dublin because of progressive workforce development programs like the IT Academy at the Emerald Campus, and the high quality of place for work and living.
“Northwoods is a technology company truly focused on human services, which makes them very attractive for the City to invest in,” says Economic Development Administrator Kyle Kridler. “We pride ourselves on creating conditions for businesses to thrive, and we couldn’t be happier that Northwoods recognizes that Dublin is the best place to continue growing their business.”
Northwoods was recently named as a top work place in 2019 by Columbus CEO among their small companies category.
The agreement approved by City Council at its May 20 meeting includes a performance-based incentive of up to $300,000 over six years. The company will also receive a $30,000 relocation grant once they buy and move into their new office space. As part of the agreement, Northwoods agrees to increase its annual payroll by $16 million by the end of 2025. The City expects to net more than $2.3 million over the term of this agreement.
