The City of Dublin’s Legacy Tree program allows families and friends to leave a lasting, living memorial or recognition to loved ones in the form of a tree and plaque.
Who may participate in this program?
The City of Dublin’s Legacy Tree program provides residents an opportunity to recognize important occasions such as anniversaries, weddings, birth and retirements, as well as to memorialize the loss of a loved one.
Where can a Legacy Tree be planted?
Legacy trees are typically planted within City of Dublin parks and open spaces. Most parks are eligible. City staff will work with those purchasing the tree to determine an appropriate location and species of tree. Legacy tree plantings are held in the spring or fall to give the trees the best chance of survival.
What does the fee cover?
The current cost is $1,065 for a 1.75-inch caliper tree and 6-by-9 inch bronze cast plaque.
Who will care for the tree?
The City of Dublin will plant, mulch, water and prune the tree as necessary.
What can be written on the plaques?
The City has specific standards that ensure uniformity of the 6×9-inch bronze cast plaques. No logos or artwork are permitted. The plaques allow for a maximum of 54 uppercase letters, including spaces.
