(Dublin, OH) On December 17, the Dublin Police Department, along with several other Central Ohio Police agencies, gathered at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital Solove Research Institute to present a check for $22,500 to the family of Erik Gilleland, a former City of Dublin police detective who succumbed to gall bladder cancer in April 2019.
Gilleland’s family then presented the check to the James Comprehensive Cancer Center on behalf of their loved one’s memory.
Throughout the month of November, the Dublin Police Department, in conjunction with Hilliard Division of Police, City of Upper Arlington Police, City of Gahanna Police, City of Worthington Police, Columbus State Police Department, Perry Township Police and the Fraternal Order of Police, participated in Movember to raise money for cancer research.
Movember takes place in November and involves a month of not shaving facial hair to raise awareness for those suffering from various forms of cancer. Additionally, female employees wore green hair extensions or highlights in support of this fundraiser. Thank you to all of those who participated in honor of Officer Gilleland.
