The Dublin Police Department had much to celebrate at its annual Awards Ceremony on January 25. With 14 exceptional attendance awards, 19 certificates of merit, 4 awards of merit and 6 life-saving awards, the Department’s 2017 accomplishments are something all Dublin employees and residents should be proud of.
Officer Charles Sterling earned the prestigious Officer of the Year award. Sgt. Nick Tabernik, who nominated him, says Officer Sterling always strives to do the right thing and keeps getting better every year on the job.
“As a 13 year veteran of the Dublin Police Department, Officer Charles Sterling has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, sound investigative skills, and exemplary professionalism. He demonstrates his commitment to the Community Impact Unit and agency as a whole on a daily basis, while treating both civilians and fellow officers with respect.”
Chief Heinz von Eckartsberg and Sgt. Greg Potts were both honored with longevity awards for 35 years of service.
