DUBLIN, Ohio – On Saturday June 23, the Dublin Police Department will host a Community Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
The event provides a free, safe way for community members to rid their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. The community is encouraged to bring pills to Karrer Middle School at 7245 Tullymore Drive
from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. At this time, the service is taking pills. We are unable to take liquids, inhalers, or any type of needle, syringe etc. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
A look at the impact of the take-back program:
- Medicines left in homes are highly susceptible to misuse and abuse
- Nationally, more than 115 Americans die daily because of opioid overdose
Prescription pill abuse is a problem in communities across the country, including Dublin, and it contributes to the growing opiate epidemic. By hosting Community Prescription Drug Take Back Days throughout the year, the City hopes to help residents remove the risk of having highly addictive opiates in their homes.
In addition to this event, a prescription pill drop box is available at the Dublin Justice Center 24/7 for pill disposal. The City and Dublin Police also participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Days during the year. You can learn more about these services by visiting:
