DUBLIN, Ohio – Dublin Police Chief Heinz von Eckartsberg is honored to announce the promotion of Sgt. Nick Tabernik and Sgt. Greg Lattanzi to the new ranks of Police Lieutenant.
The two promotions took effect Monday, January 4, 2019, but both officers will be formally sworn in at the City Council meeting on Monday, February 11, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. All media is invited.
Lt. Tabernik has been a police officer for 13 years with the City of Dublin. He has served as a Patrol Sergeant, Field Training Sergeant and the Community Impact Unit Sergeant. Tabernik will be in charge of the Detectives, the Community Impact Unit and the Community Education Unit which consists of special events, crowd control and the Diversity and Inclusion Officers.
Lt. Lattanzi has also been a police officer for the City of Dublin for 13 years. He has been part of the Traffic Enforcement Unit, Patrol Corporal, Patrol Sergeant and a Field Training Sergeant. Lattanzi will be in charge of patrol, field training, recruiting and the Memorial Tournament planning.
“Tabernik and Lattanzi are great examples of the hard work and dedication that happens here at the Dublin Police Department,” said Dublin Police Chief Heinz von Eckartsberg. “I am confident that they will help provide leadership and direction needed to our officers and assure the continued success of our agency.”
This appointment is the second step in filling new leadership positions in 2019 for Dublin Police.
