(Dublin, OH) — The City of Dublin takes first place in the large business category for SparkColumbus’s 2021 Spring Fit City Challenge presented by Oswald Companies and Vionic Shoes.
The SparkColumbus 2021 Fit City Challenge, led by the SparkAmerica movement, is a nationwide interactive challenge designed to help move individuals, companies and communities toward better health. The free-to-join six-week challenge encourages participants to get active and track everyday fitness activity minutes in the Spark360 Mobile app. Participants can join colleagues to help their organization reach the top of the company leaderboard, while also climbing up the individual leaderboard themselves.
City of Dublin landed atop the large business category leaderboard with 36,185 minutes of fitness activity tracked in the mobile app. As its prize, the City earned a television commercial showcasing Dublin that aired recently on ABC6/FOX28.
All tracked activity counts — walking, running, yoga, roller skating, dancing, gardening, walking your dog, etc. Both individual and organizational prized were awarded, including three City of Dublin employees who won a pair of Vionic Shoes for their participation in the challenge:
- Stephen Mette, NRECC Operations Manager — 5,460 minutes
- Rita Distelhorst, Communications Technician — 4,336 minutes
- Corporal Jake Stoll, Dublin Police — 3,739 minutes
This year’s participating cities included Akron, Altoona, Baton Rouge, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Findlay, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Toledo and West Chicago. The official leaderboard for all participating cities and companies can be found on the SparkColumbus website.
