Dublin, OH – Franklin County Public Health will be spraying for mosquitoes Monday, August 31, in the central and east zones of Dublin. Please see the included map for reference.

Mosquitoes in this area tested positive for West Nile Virus. FCPH regularly traps and tests mosquitoes throughout the City. It is part of an Integrated Mosquito Control and Management Program aimed at disease prevention.
The spray is scheduled to start at 8:45 p.m. (weather permitting). It will take a few hours to spray the entire area.
Spraying is typically only performed when WNV or extremely high levels of mosquitoes are found in a particular area. West Nile Virus Symptoms:
- Mild fever
- Headache
- Body aches
- Skin rash
- Swollen lymph glands
*Eighty percent of people bitten by an infected mosquito will not show any symptoms at all.
West Nile Virus Prevention:
- Wear insect repellent containing DEET. (follow package directions)
- Limit outdoor activity at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
- Eliminate all standing water around your home. (Mosquitoes breed in water and, it doesn’t take much.)
