(DUBLIN, Ohio) After two separate investigations spanning approximately two months, the Dublin Police Department has arrested two suspects linked to a string of thefts from motor vehicles and the theft of two vehicles inside Dublin City limits.
- Carlos Del Fierro, 35, was arrested after he was observed driving a stolen vehicle, attempting to enter an unlocked vehicle, and fleeing from Dublin Police officers. This coordinated effort involved uniformed and undercover officers. Del Fierro was also wanted on several warrants from Franklin County and was taken into custody without incident. Upon search of the vehicle he was driving when arrested, items reported stolen from recent Dublin vehicle thefts were located. Del Fierro was indicted on several receiving stolen property felony charges in Delaware County. He remains in jail awaiting trial.
- Kenneth Beggrow, 26, was also arrested after he was observed driving a stolen vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident. This coordinated effort also involved uniformed and undercover officers. Beggrow faces charges of receiving stolen property and failure to comply with orders of a police officer. He remains in the Franklin County Jail awaiting trial.
”These arrests were the culmination of months of hard work by patrol officers, detectives and undercover officers. Their diligence and persistence was key to finally resolving these cases. Solving and preventing these crimes remains one of the highest priorities of the Dublin Police Department,” says Dublin Police Chief Heinz von Eckartsberg.
Dublin Police encourage residents and visitors to always remain alert and aware. Police also encourage drivers to be vigilant by removing or hiding all valuables or purchases from vehicles. This includes items like phone charging cords, garage door openers, suction cup mounts and spare change.
Whenever possible, police encourage drivers to park in well-lit, high-traffic areas. Officers urge drivers to follow these simple steps every time they leave a vehicle at home or at work.
