Does the agency have a residency requirement?
A Communications Technician must establish and maintain a primary place of residence within a county within which the Police Department has jurisdiction, or a county contiguous with such county of jurisdiction. (List includes Franklin, Delaware, Union, Morrow, Marion, Hardin, Logan, Champaign, Madison, Pickaway, Fairfield, Licking and Knox counties.)
A newly hired Communications Technician has six months from their start date to establish the residency requirement.

Yes. Citizens may observe once every six months for a 2- to 4-hour shift. To request an observation form, email Stephanie Skipworth with NRECC at sskipworth@dublin.oh.us.
How many people will be hired?
The number hired will vary depending upon the City’s budget, retirements, and overall needs of the department.
What type of shifts do Communications Technicians work?
Communications Technicians work eight-hour shifts, 40-hour work weeks with the same days off each week. Communications Technicians bid for shift assignments once per year.
- First Shift: 6:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
- Second Shift: 2:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
- Third Shift: 10:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
- Late Mid-watch Shift: 6:45 p.m. to 2:45 a.m.
