Veterans Committee

The Dublin Veterans Committee serves as an adviser and resource for Dublin City Council, offering expertise and diverse perspectives on a wide range of topics affecting the Dublin veteran’s community. The Veterans Committee is composed of veterans from multiple branches of the military and is tasked with offering informed perspectives on policy development, program implementation and strategic planning in relation to Dublin veterans. The Committee is advisory in nature and not advocacy-driven. Work focuses on supporting decision-makers rather than actively promoting a particular agenda. Through collaboration with staff and Dublin City Council, the Veterans Committee works to foster transparency, accountability, and effective governance, ultimately striving to enhance the quality of life for all members of the community.

Purpose

The Veterans Committee was established to provide input to City Council and City staff regarding Veterans ceremonies and events; management and operations of the Grounds of Remembrance; management, maintenance and operations of the Dublin Cemeteries relative to veteran gravesites; tributes, remembrances and programs honoring Veterans and our military fallen and missing; and encourage the input and participation of other military Veterans within the community. The Veterans Committee acts solely in an advisory capacity to City Council.

Members

The Veterans Committee consists of 10 community members and are appointed by City Council. To ensure that all veteran branches and local stakeholders are represented, the committee is comprised of one member representing the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, American Legion Post 800, Dublin City Council and Washington Township Trustees. Public Records Request Overview

In order to support faster response and better tracking of requests, the City of Dublin uses JustFOIA to collect, respond to and manage public information requests.

Why JustFOIA?

JustFOIA is a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) online application that helps streamline the open records request process for the community and improve efficiencies in getting requested information quickly and accurately.

The application lets community members submit requests for all city records, including police reports. Commonly requested information includes accident reports, copies of resolutions and body-camera video.
