Brandon Brown Named Chief Innovation and Technology Officer for the City of Dublin

The City of Dublin is pleased to announce the promotion of Brandon Brown to the position of Chief Innovation and Technology Officer. In this role, Brown will spearhead the City’s initiatives to leverage technology for driving innovation, improving public services, focusing on cybersecurity and advancing the City’s strategic objectives.

Brown has been a vital part of the City’s technology team for more than two decades, bringing a wealth of experience and a forward-thinking approach to his work. His leadership has been instrumental in numerous successful projects that have significantly improved the City’s technological capabilities and service delivery.

“Brandon has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision throughout his tenure with the City of Dublin,” says City Manager Megan O’Callaghan. “His expertise and commitment to innovation have been key drivers in our efforts to enhance the quality of life for our residents through advanced technology. As Chief Innovation and Technology Officer, Brandon will continue to play a critical role in our mission to be a leader in municipal innovation.”

Prior to this promotion, Brown served as director of Innovation & Analytics and interim director of Information Technology, where he oversaw critical initiatives such as the implementation of the city-wide fiber optic network and the deployment of advanced data analytics to optimize public services. His previous roles included GIS Coordinator and Data Manager, positions in which he demonstrated a deep commitment to efficiency and innovation and earned multiple awards and national recognition.

Under Brown’s leadership, the City has launched several successful digital platforms that streamline services and improve access and transparency for residents, including the implementation of the GoDublin app and real-time data dashboards. He also led the City’s new 3D urban modeling efforts, which use augmented reality (AR) technology for planning and financial analysis. Brown is leading the implementation of multiple artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance productivity and improve the customer experience. Those include various AI-assisted security features, predictive asset maintenance, AI-assisted video translation and smart mobility technologies such as dynamic routing for service deployment, adaptive traffic signal timing and computer vision analytics for parking management.

Brown has worked closely with the Dublin Police Department to implement advanced technologies that improve public safety and emergency response. As a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, he is also dedicated to utilizing cutting-edge technologies that improve efficiency, transparency and public engagement.

Brown is deeply engaged in the regional tech community, actively participating in and presenting to organizations such as TechLife Columbus and CIO Tomorrow. His professional accolades include published articles in trade journals and numerous speaking engagements at local and national conferences and webinars.

Brown’s promotion reflects the City’s commitment to fostering leadership from within and recognizing the contributions of its exceptional employees. The City is confident that under his direction, Dublin will serve its mission to be the most connected global city of choice, continuing to excel and set new benchmarks for municipal technology.

The City is also excited to announce that the search for a new IT Director is nearly complete. This role will support Brown in his efforts and further strengthen the City’s technological framework and boost cybersecurity. More details about this upcoming position will be announced soon.
