New in 2020, instructions for completing Form DIR-1040 (individual return) are now available in Japanese and Chinese, the top languages spoken by residents with limited English language proficiency, according to Census data. The professionally translated versions provide better transparency for those who wish to learn about the process in their native language. Residents are still required to file their taxes in English.
