Love nature? Join over 200 Dublin homes, schools, businesses and places of worship in turning your yard into a Certified Wildlife Habitat.
All you need is a yard, garden or landscape that provides basic needs for wildlife. Your space is probably already qualified.
When you certify, you receive a personalized certificate, subscription to National Wildlife Magazine along with other benefits. Most importantly, you’ll make a difference for wildlife.
Dublin has been a certified Community Wildlife Habitat since 2012 and remains the first and only community in the state. Help us keep that status and reach our goal of certifying 180 more yards in 2017.
Choose from a long list of natural elements to check off and become a Certified Wildlife Habitat, including:
- Food (e.g. seeds, berries)
- Water (e.g. birdbath, stream)
- Cover (e.g. wooded area, ground cover)
- Places to raise young (e.g. mature trees, dense shrubs)
- Sustainable practices (e.g. limiting water use, native plants)
