(Dublin, Ohio) — The Abbey Theater of Dublin will co-present with Evolution Theatre Company two world-premiere one-man productions in an evening entitled “Two Ones.” The production will be performed in-person (adhering to all CDC and Franklin County Public Health guidelines) Oct. 21-23, 2021. Tickets are $15 per patron and are available for purchase at DublinOhioUSA.gov/abbey-theater.
“Navigation” is written and performed by Monty Almoro. A poignant coming-of-age story, ‘Navigation’ explores what it means to be a gay immigrant youth in America.
“The Sissy Chronicles” is written and performed by Mark Phillips Schwamberger. A highly relatable exploration of the life experiences of a gay man, ‘The Sissy Chronicles’ is filled with pathos, humor and heart-warming first-hand accounts of the societal structures and patterns which confront, shape and ultimately define the lives of those deemed “other” or “different.”
“We are honored to co-produce with Evolution Theatre Company “Navigation” and “The Sissy Chronicles” in their world premieres,” the Abbey Theater of Dublin’s Theater Supervisor Joe Bishara said. “Both productions provide ample insight into the intricacies of negotiating the world we live in now.”
