AEP Ohio is beginning work to improve electric reliability and support economic development in northwest Columbus and the Dublin area with a Bethel-Sawmill Transmission Line rebuild. To accommodate this work, the recreation path between Summit View Rd. and Wyandotte Woods Blvd., on the western edge of Emerald Fields, is closed. This is a long-term path closure needed as AEP rebuilds approximately five miles of transmission line between Bethel Road to just north of Summit View Road. The path is expected to remain closed until January 2021.
Additionally, there will be temporary lane closures on Hard Road just west of Emerald Parkway and on Coventry Woods Drive near Emerald Parkway controlled by traffic control devices and flaggers as necessary.
Tree clearing is tentatively expected to begin in Dublin just after Labor Day, followed by access roads installation and line installation. The rebuilding of the line is expected be completed by the end of the year. Seeding and restoration will be done in Spring 2021.
AEP representatives will continue to work directly with individual property owners as necessary on tree removal and other easement impacts that are unique to each property. If your property is adjacent to the AEP rebuild area, you should have already heard from an AEP representative regarding impacts to your specific property. Please continue to communicate with the representative who reached out to you. Should you have questions and have not received communication from AEP Ohio, please contact Joe Demaree at jkdemaree@aep.com.
