The following City Notes column was submitted to the Dublin Villager by City Manager Dana McDaniel
The City of Dublin will again participate in the National Citizen Survey conducted by the National Research Center. Starting in late December, some residents will be notified in the mail that they’ve been randomly selected to participate.
The survey is unique in that questions and their administration are standardized to assure high quality research methods. And the results are directly comparative across hundreds of communities nationwide, so we can benchmark how we’re doing.
As a proud local democracy, it is of utmost importance that our residents are civically engaged. That’s why, in addition to our regular public meetings, open houses, and online platforms, the City conducts surveys every few years as yet another way for residents to make their voices heard.
I urge you to take the 15-20 minutes to complete the survey. Your feedback is important, as the data helps gauge residents’ perceptions of local government, and is used in guiding policy decisions to enhance and continue high-quality service delivery.
Questions will cover the areas of safety, mobility, natural environment, built environment, economy, recreation and wellness, education and enrichment, and community engagement.
If you are not selected to participate in the survey, and have feedback you want to share, I encourage you to reach out online, or meet me at an upcoming Coffee with the City Manager.
This is Dublin’s fourth survey conducted by the National Research Center, following surveys in 2009, 2012 and 2015. To view previous survey results, visit dublinohiousa.gov/ncs.
