(Dublin, OH) – The City of Dublin will host the annual Tree Lighting from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 in Coffman Park, marking the official start of the 2021 holiday season in Dublin.
This festive evening, which is free and open to the public, features a display of 40,000 LED lights that will illuminate Coffman Park. Caroling, dance performances, roaming holiday stilt walkers, ice sculpting, character appearances, trackless train rides and more seasonal activities and entertainment will be provided for residents to enjoy in the Park. Hot chocolate and holiday-themed refreshments will be available for purchase.
The highlight of the event will be a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and Santa’s reindeer on the front lawn of the Coffman Pavilion next to the City’s 30-foot tall Christmas tree. Santa will officially light the tree at 6:40 p.m. Opportunities for photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus will take place after the tree is lit.
Letters may be written and mailed to Santa using the North Pole Mailbox at the Coffman Pavilion. For direct delivery, children can send their letters to Santa’s email inbox at santa@dublin.oh.us. Or, children can drop their letters in Santa’s mailbox at the Dublin Community Recreation Center after the Tree Lighting to guarantee on-time delivery to the North Pole before Christmas.
Event-goers may use parking spaces in Coffman Park, the Dublin Community Recreation Center (5600 Post Rd.) and the Southwest Field (6670 Commerce Pkwy.). Dublin Community Recreation Center visitors will need to enter from Post Road or Downpatrick Road, off Tara Hill Road, during the event. Coffman Park Drive in front of Coffman Park Pavilion will be closed for the event.
