The Emerald City Half & Quarter Marathon returns Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, in its new home in Historic Dublin and Bridge Park. The start and finish line will be on the West Plaza in Historic Dublin and the Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5K will begin at 7 a.m.
There will be several road closures in and around Dublin along the route. The race begins at 7 a.m. and all participants should be finished by 11 a.m. The affected streets will reopen along the course as soon as the final participants are through affected areas.
Course and Affected Roads:
- Start on High Street (Dublin Road); Turn right (west) on Bridge Street; Turn right (northwest) on Post Road; Turn left (southwest) on Emerald Parkway (5K Turns Right towards Finish); Turn right (northwest) on Perimeter Drive; Turn right (north) on Commerce Parkway; Turn left (west) on Post Road; At Avery Muirfield take tunnel under Avery Muirfield Road (Quarter Turns Toward Finish); Continue on bike path back to Post Road; Post Road then turn right (north) on Hyland-Croy to Honda Wetlands; Turn left (west) into Metro Park; Follow street to the Welcome Center then back and turn right (south) on Highland Croy; Turn left (east) on Park Mill Drive; Turn right (south) onto bike path to Post Reserve Park; Enter M.L. (Red) Trabue Nature Preserve back to the tunnel under Avery Muirfield Drive; Continue (east) on bike path to Coffman Park Drive; Continue (east) in the street on Coffman Park Drive; At Coffman Park Drive and Emerald Parkway continue east on Emerald Parkway via the bike path parallel to Emerald Parkway to Dublin Road; Turn right (south) on Dublin Road in the street to the Finish Line.
2:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Both lanes of High Street will be closed from Rock Cress Pkwy to North Street.
- North Street will be closed from High Street to Darby Street.
- High Street will be closed from Emerald Parkway to Rock Cress from 7 a.m.-12 p.m.
6:45 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- West lanes of Bridge Street to Post Road will be closed
6:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
- Post Road to Hyland-Croy Road (Avery Muirfield will remain open)
7:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
- Post Preserve onto Post will remain closed.
- Park Mill Drive onto Hyland-Croy Road will remain closed. Both subdivisions will be able to exit onto Tullymore Drive with intermittent closures when necessary.
- Eastbound lanes of Emerald Parkway from Coffman Road to High Street (Dublin Road)
7:15 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
- Both lanes of Hyland-Croy Road will remain closed from Post Road to Tullymore Drive.
- Conquistador Ct will be closed to allow participants to continue on the M.L. Nature Preserve.
- Coffman Park Drive from exit of M.L Nature Preserve (At Dublin Recreation Center) to Emerald Parkway
