(Dublin, OH) Santa is taking a quick trip to Dublin to visit all the good little boys and girls! On Sunday, Dec. 20 from 1 to 5 p.m., residents can wave to jolly old Saint Nick as he passes through the neighborhoods highlighted on the SantaGo map.
Santa Claus plans to give the reindeer a break and instead let Dublin give him and Mrs. Claus a lift through the community while accompanied by a Washington Township fire truck, Dublin Police cruiser and a festively decorated snow plow.
Please, in the spirit of physical distancing and community health, do not encourage neighborhood gatherings or viewing parties. The idea is for each family and resident to enjoy the procession from their own porches, driveways or front yards. If Santa is not coming directly by your home and you would like to watch from a nearby sidewalk, please stay at least six feet away from others. Let’s keep this a fun and safe event for everyone!
In response to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the City of Dublin has reimagined several festive events. Starting with the virtual Tree Lighting ceremony and continuing with the all-new Santa Dash Through Dublin, it is the City’s goal to bring holiday cheer to its residents while remaining safe and physically distanced.
“The City of Dublin has a direct line to the North Pole and after we told Santa our plan, I could hear his eye twinkle with excitement,” said Director of Community Events Alison LeRoy. “After an extremely tough year, we look forward to bringing this fun and safe experience to our community!”
For residents who miss Santa drive by their home, children can write a letter to him and drop it off at the Dublin Community Recreation Center or email it directly to the Jolly Old Elf at Santa@dublin.oh.us. Download a festive letter template.
