Construction for the Tuttle Crossing Boulevard Extension project is currently not programmed as the City of Dublin and its regional partners work to develop a full funding plan for these improvements. This project remains a priority for the City and the region. Despite financial commitments from the Cities of Dublin and Columbus and private developers, there remains a funding gap. Dublin Engineering staff are continuing to seek additional options to help identify funding sources for the $15.55 million construction project.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Dublin, along with regional partners are working to extend Tuttle Crossing Boulevard approximately 2,500 feet from Wilcox Road to Avery Road, and reconstructing Avery Road to a 4-lane boulevard section from the new intersection of Tuttle Crossing Boulevard and Avery Road at the south, to the Cramer Ditch Bridge just north of Rings Road/Cara Road. The centerline of Avery Road will be shifted 50 feet to the west of the current alignment to avoid impacts to the businesses located on the east side of the road.
Roundabouts will be installed at the intersections of Tuttle Crossing Boulevard and Avery Road, Tuttle Crossing Boulevard and Wilcox Road, and Avery Road and Rings Road/Cara Road. The roadway work will extend into Wilcox Road, Rings Road (west of Avery Road), and Cara Road to connect the roundabouts to the existing roadways. Bicycle and pedestrian facilities will be constructed along both sides of Tuttle Crossing Boulevard and Avery Road.
The proposed project will improve mobility along Tuttle Crossing Boulevard and Avery Road by providing additional east-west connectivity to support existing community and development plans. By doing so, the proposed project will reduce travel times and increase connectivity to the existing roadway network. Overall, the goals and objectives of the proposed project are identified in the City of Dublin’s Community Plan as well as the City of Dublin’s 2016-2020 Capital Improvements Program to balance transportation (roads and pedestrian) and development needs within and around the proposed project area.
We are currently in the detailed design stage of the project. As of summer 2019, there is a $10.6 million funding gap. Construction is not scheduled at this time as a construction funding package is still being developed.
