The City of Dublin will be conducting dyed water testing the Muirfield area on November 6, 2019. This is part of the City’s continuing evaluation of the sanitary sewer system in the area. The City has contracted with EMH&T, a public works engineering firm, to perform the dyed water testing. (This was originally scheduled for October 31 and November 4-5, 2019, but was postponed due to weather conditions).
Dyed water testing is a technique used to identify potential sources of clean stormwater entering into the sanitary system. A non-toxic, non-staining dye is introduced into the storm sewer and transferred into the sanitary sewer. Cameras are then placed into the sanitary sewer system and used to televise the water flow for observation.
Residents may observe some dye remnants in the street curb-line, in the storm sewers or at storm sewer outfall locations. This non-toxic dye will dissipate fairly quickly and will not stain the ground nor harm any vegetation or wildlife.
If you have any questions regarding this work, please call Marci Bland of EMH&T at 614.775.4237 or Todd Garwick, City of Dublin, at 614.410.4665. Your cooperation during the work on this project is greatly appreciated.
