Landscape bed maintenance and replanting work will take place on Tara Hill Drive from Coffman Road to Muirfield Drive. The City has contracted with Builderscape, Inc. to remove and replant the landscape in the islands and traffic circles along Tara Hill Drive.
The contractor’s work is anticipated to start the week of May 9 and will last two or three weeks, depending on weather and plant availability. Work hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Builderscape, Inc. will stage equipment and trucks at the ends of the medians/traffic circles to perform the removal and replanting work. Traffic will be maintained with only minor and temporary interruptions as needed to maneuver equipment as they complete the work.
The original planting beds have declined over the years due to environmental factors such as shade intolerances and accumulations of salt in the soil as a result of snow and ice management. The new replacement plants selected for the beds are much more tolerant to these conditions and will improve the aesthetics of the neighborhood providing an array of colors throughout the seasons.
The plant selection for these beds includes:
- Plum Royale Heuchera
- Liriope Varigated
- Kaleidoscope Abelia
- Globemaster Allium
- Immortality Iris
*Plant selections are dependent on nursery availability. Plants may be substituted with similar alternatives.
