The Dublin Police Department is charging Emery Toth, 17, with aggravated menacing and making false alarms, both first degree misdemeanors.
An anonymous tip to the Dublin City Schools helpline indicated that Toth, a Coffman student, had made comments about shooting other students. Dublin Police thoroughly and immediately investigated the allegation and determined there was not an immediate threat and no Dublin students or schools were in danger. However, through interviews with various witnesses, police determined there is sufficient evidence that Toth did threaten others with physical harm.
Dublin Police and Dublin City Schools thank those who have come forward with information and continue to encourage anyone who sees or hears something to say something. Anyone with information can report threats or other criminal acts to the DPD at 614.889.1112 or online at DublinOhioUSA.gov/police.
The school district’s anonymous helpline allows students and the public to report tips on any subject, including threats. The number is 1-866-LISTEN-2-ME.
Dublin Police and Dublin City Schools will continue to work together to ensure the safety and security of all Dublin students; it is their top priority. Threats to the safety of individuals or our schools will not be tolerated.
