From May 9 through 16, the Dublin Police will participate in the Light Ohio Blue campaign, which honors the lives of law enforcement officers who have died while serving as well as acknowledges police officers currently serving. This statewide campaign coincides with National Police Week, which culminates with National Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15.
Light It Blue
The City and Dublin Police Department encourages residents and businesses to remember officers by displaying blue light bulbs on porches or in windows. The City is lighting The Dublin Link blue, along with the Dublin Community Recreation Center, City Hall, the Dublin Justice Center and the bridges over U.S. 33.
Police Memorial
Dublin Police officers annually hold a police memorial service to pay tribute to the sacrifice of Central Ohio officers who have been killed while performing their duty. Because of the pandemic, the City will record the small ceremony on May 7 and share the service online with the public via social media May 15.
Blood Drive
The Dublin Police is also hosting a blood drive Thursday, May 13, at the Dublin Community Recreation Center. This is a friendly competition with neighboring police departments Hilliard, Upper Arlington and Worthington to secure the most blood donations for the Red Cross in honor of fallen officers. The Red Cross is always in need of donations, so please consider making an appointment to give blood whenever you can to honor a fallen officer.
