Dublin Police have charged a man after an incident at The Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing, located at 4880 Tuttle Road. Robert A. Hackler, 29, of Columbus is charged with burglary and inducing panic. Police say he broke into the assisted care facility around 11:45 p.m. Monday and claimed to have an explosive device. More than 30 residents were evacuated and moved to a nearby location as a precaution. Police searched the facility with the assistance of bomb-detecting dogs and found no evidence of an explosive. Police cleared the scene around 2 a.m. and the residents were returned safely to the facility.
Dublin Police were assisted by the Washington Township Fire Department, Columbus Division of Police, Hilliard Division of Police, the Ohio State University Police Division, Upper Arlington Police Division and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
